year, and care for Alzheimer's and other severe cognitive disorders
requiring round the clock care costing much more than that, a few
years in a nursing home can leave the surviving spouse cash poor.
- Medicare does not pay for custodial Nursing Home Care
- Medicaid requires that one have virtually no assets and Medicaid
can place a lien on the house to recover the nursing home expenses
paid by the Medicaid program, potentially leaving your heirs with
nothing to inherit.

| Disability |
- Individual and Group Disability polices are available.
- These policies assist employers and employees safeguard income against loss
when injuries or illness keep the insured away from work, due to
serious illness or injury.
- Social Security Disability Income does not kick in immediately
and usually does not replace the income of most workers out of work
due to serious illness or injury, thus there is a need to replace
the lost income.
- We work with our clients to package the appropriate policies to
allow them to continue living as close to the lifestyle they were
used to living before their illness or accident occurred.

| Medicare Advantage |
- There are several types of Medicare Advantage Plans they are
broken them out below to simplify the explanation of each type of
plan as well as what makes each kind of plan a good purchase.
- The Annual Enrollment Period is from November 15 until December
31 each year.
- The Open Enrollment Period is from January 1 to March 31 each
year. During this period changes between different carriers can be
made.
- Individual's aging into Medicare Eligibility have 3 months
before, the month of their 65th birthday and 3 months after their
birthday in which to enroll in a plan.
- These plans have no medical underwriting.
- Plans are available and specifically designed for those who are
Dual Eligible

| Medicare Part - D |
- This is the Medicare Prescription Plan.
- All of the plans must meet minimum benefits levels established
by the Center for Medicare Services
- Plans are typically established nationwide by each carrier
offering the plans. However the premiums are set on a county level.
- These plans can be stand-alone or included as part of a Medicare
PPO, HMO, or PFFS. It may be worth looking at one of these plans to
see if the cost of the PPO, HMO, or PFFS plan including the Medicare
Part D plan saves significant money compared to paying for the Part
D plan and a Medicare Supplement Plan.

| Medicare Supplement Plans |
- Many well established insurance companies for years have offered
Medicare Supplement Plans.
- These plans are designed around a variety of different standard
plan designs.
- Not all plan designs are offered by every carrier
- Not all plan designs are necessarily available in each area of
the country
- These plans will require medical underwriting unless you enroll
during specific timeframes

| Medicare PPOs/HMOs |
- These plans require the use of providers in a specific network.
- These plans typically are best for individuals who do not travel
much instead remaining within a single geographic area all year.
- No Medical Underwriting required to join one of these plans.

| Medicare PFFS Plans |
- Otherwise known as a Medicare Private Fee For Service Plan.
- Basically it is everything that Medicare is with a few enhanced
programs or services offered by the insurance carrier you choose.
You sign up with the carrier and pay a premium, which in some cases
is even a zero dollar $0 plan. There are even some plans in which
the Medicare Part - B premium is returned by the carrier saving the
Medicare beneficiary money.
- These plans use co-payments specified in the plan for cost
sharing between the plan and the insured. The co-payments are
typically capped at a maximum out of pocket level specific to the
plan. It does limit the amount of money the insured could be asked
to spend during the course of a year.
- Most of these plans have as part of the benefits a Medicare
Prescription Plan at no additional premium.
- The plans and premiums are county specific.

up a time to present the plan to you explaining all featured of the
plan and then help with the enrollment. This is all at absolutely no
cost to the insured.

| Annuities |
- We can assist in the purchase of annuities as we represent a
host of different companies with access to a wide product selection.
- Annuities are available in many different "flavors" from the
fixed immediate payout to multiple premium deferred annuities using
various indices for growth of the premiums.
- We help evaluate the client's needs to assist in picking the
best annuity for each individual client.
